1. Ashwani Bhatia appointed Managing Director of State Bank of India
- Ashwani Bhatia has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of the State Bank of India (SBI) as per the recommendation of Banks Board Bureau
- He will hold the post of MD till his superannuation on May 31, 2022.
- He succeeded P K Gupta who superannuated on March 31.
- Ashwani Bhatia is currently working as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at SBI Mutual Fund.

2. Ministry of Shipping signs MoU for skill development in maritime sector
- Ministry of Skill Development has signed an MoU with Ministry of Shipping to promote skill development in port and maritime sector.
- The MoU will skill, re-skill and up-skill the manpower for the growing maritime industry along with development of coastal community.
- It will offer extensive employment opportunities to the youth of coastal areas strengthening Coastal Community Development under Sagar Mala programme launched by Ministry of Shipping.

3. Kallis, Sthalekar and Zaheer Abbas inducted into ICC Hall of Fame
- International Cricket Council (ICC) has inducted three retired all rounder cricketers Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Lisa Sthalekar (Australia) and Zaheer Abbas (Pakistan) into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame
- The induction was made during an absorbing show through ICC digital channels.
- Induction show was hosted by commentator Alan Wilkins and featured Sunil Gavaskar, Melanie Jones, and Shaun Pollock as the main guests

4. MP Police launches ‘Ek Sankalp – Bujurgo ke naam’ campaign
- Chhatarpur Police of Madhya Pradesh has rolled out ‘Ek Sankalp – Bujurgo ke naam’ (‘a commitment for elders’) campaign for senior citizens along with helpline number
- This unique campaign is launched to take care of the elderly and helpless people by providing them food and health facilities
- Under this, 3000 senior citizens of district have been selected by the Chhatarpur police whose children are away from them and they are living alone in the home.

5. MoTA ties-up with MoRD for promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities
- Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) has partnered with Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD to promote sustainable livelihood opportunities.
- Through this, sustainable livelihood opportunities will be promoted among tribal women Self Help Groups (SHGs) under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
- MoRD will identify and map tribal women SHG members including their individual livelihood assets
- MoTA will offer planning support in Livelihood Annual Action Plan.

6. Ministry of Tourism signs MoU with TAAI and FLO for women empowerment
- Ministry of Tourism signs an MoU virtually with Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) & FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) to promote tourism as sustainable livelihood model for women’s economic empowerment
- It will increase participation of women in the tourism sector by initiating and engaging women at grassroot level, the middle level in semi urban, urban areas and the urban educated unemployed
- FLO and TAAI will act as the facilitators for the project

7. Axis Bank rolls out hiring initiative titled ‘Gig-a-Opportunities’
- Axis Bank has rolled out an initiative named as ‘Gig-a-Opportunities’ to attract skilled talent that can work with the bank remotely, from anywhere across the nation
- This hiring initiative comprises of two working patterns: One is the full-time permanent job and the second is based on the duration of a project which is temporary in nature.
- Through this, Axis Bank will employ 800-1000 people over the next year.

8. HSBC India rolls out ‘Green Deposit Programme’
- HSBC India has launched ‘Green Deposit Programme’ to finance eco-friendly projects for corporate clients encouraging the transition to a low-carbon, climate resilient, and sustainable economy
- Under this deposit scheme, HSBC India will provide its corporate clients stable and pre-agreed returns along with the same protection as a normal bank deposit does.
- The deposit will come in the form of a term deposit with higher interests as compared to savings deposits.

- Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) have signed MoU with Switzerland-based HELP Logistics to provide consulting services and logistics training for the humanitarian community amid COVID-19 pandemic
- MoU will carry out activities benefiting humanity
- It will develop humanitarian logistics along with regional knowledge providing consulting services and logistics training to prominent actors like UN, Govt institutions and NGOs during a humanitarian crisis

10. UP Govt signs MoU with Israel to resolve Bundelkhand water crises
- Uttar Pradesh Govt has signed MoU with Israel Govt to resolve water crisis in drought hit Bundelkhand region.
- The MoU will support regional farmers with latest farming technologies such as drip irrigation that can be used for water deficient regions addressing water scarcity of Bundelkhand and adjoining areas
- India–Israel Bundelkhand Water Project has 3 components: water conservation, water efficient transportation and advanced water practices for agriculture
